According to the St. Louis Blues, the team has acquired Justin Faulk and a 5th round pick from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Joel Edmundson, prospect Dominik Bokk, and a 7th round pick.
The Blues also announce that they reached an agreement on a new contract for Faulk, which will be 7 years at an AAV of $6.5 million, starting in 2020-21.
The Blues will have Faulk, Alex Pietrangelo and Colton Parayko patrolling the right side of their blueline. Pietrangelo is eligible to be a UFA this summer and Parayko has three seasons left on his contract.
Bob McKenzie reports that Dustin Byfuglien is pondering his NHL future.
Byfuglien, 34, has two seasons left on his contract at an AAV of $7.6 million.
The Canucks have re-signed Brock Boeser to 3-year contract with a $5.875 million AAV.
At the completion of this contract, Boeser will be two seasons away from unrestricted free agency.
Elliotte Friedman reports that the base salary in the final year of the contract is $7.5 million, meaning his qualifying offer will be that amount for the Canucks to retain his RFA rights after three seasons.
The Flyers have re-signed Travis Konecny to a 6-year contract with an AAV of $5.5 million.
The Flyers signed Ivan Provorov to a 6-year contract less than a week ago.
Konecny, 22, had 24 goals and 25 assists in 82 games with the Flyers last season. Before signing this contract, Konecny was 4 seasons away from UFA status.
Darren Dreger reports that it appears the Maple Leafs and Mitch Marner are closing in on a new contract.
Talks between the team and the RFA winger have been a focal point of the summer. Reports are that Marner wanted a short-term deal while the Leafs preferred a contract as long as 8 years.
The Winnipeg Jets have announced they have re-signed RFA defenseman Josh Morrissey.
This contract eats Morrissey’s 3 remaining RFA eligible seasons and extends through 5 of his UFA seasons.
Last season in 59 games, Morrissey put up 6 goals and 25 assists for the Jets.
The Rangers have announced that they have re-signed winger Brendan Lemieux to a 1-year deal.
The Rangers’ training camp opens tomorrow. Lemieux and Tony DeAngelo were their two RFAs that were unsigned. DeAngelo is now the only one without a contract.
The Rangers acquired Lemieux along with Winnipeg’s first round pick at last season’s trade deadline in exchange for Kevin Hayes.
The Devils announced that they have re-signed Pavel Zacha to a 3 year contract.
There was a report yesterday that Zacha had agreed to terms with Avangard Omsk of the KHL.
Zacha, 22, will be two seasons away from unrestricted free agency after this contract.
