Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday Night Headlines that Seth Jones has informed the Blue Jackets that he will not be re-signing with the Blue Jackets.
This has been the fear in Columbus for a while; it was rumored to be one of the reasons Pierre-Luc Dubois wanted to be traded.
Jones has one more year left on his contract, and will be a UFA upon its expiration. One would have to think Columbus makes an effort to trade him before the season opens rather than lose him to free agency.
This is just one more big storyline to follow this summer. The Philadelphia Flyers will presumably be one of the many parties who are very interested in Jones’ services.
