Pierre Lebrun reports in the Athletic, that the New Jersey Devils’ off-season plans include taking Jacob Markstrom trade talks back up, as well as checking in with Juuse Saros and the Predators.
With Montreal retaining half of Jake Allen’s contract, his $1.92 million cap hit makes him a reasonable backup to pair with either Markstrom, Saros, or another starting goalie option that emerges.
Lebrun notes that the stellar play of Yaroslav Askarov in the AHL this season might force the Predators’ hand on Saros, who has one year left on his contract before he hits UFA status.
