The Boston Bruins have re-signed Jeremy Swayman to an 8-year deal.
The contract negotiations ranged from slow to downright contentious. As the Swayman camp took issue with Bruins airing details of the contract negotiations in the media.
Elliotte Friedman reports that the contract contains $23 million in signing bonuses and a no-trade clause. The earliest the no-trade clause could come into effect is the 2026-27 season.
Swayman, 25, went 25-10-8 with a 0.916 SV% last season splitting time with Linus Ullmark, who has since been traded to Ottawa. The Bruins’ regular season schedule starts Tuesday. It’s not clear how involved Swayman will be off the bat, having missed training camp with the team.
