The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed Marcus Pettersson to a 6-year contract extension with a cap hit of $5.5 million.
The contract carries a full no-movement clause in the first 3 seasons, and a 15-team no-trade clause in the last 3 seasons.
The Canucks acquired Pettersson last week from Pittsburgh, which saw them trade the Rangers 1st round pick, acquired earlier that day in the J.T. Miller trade.
Pettersson, 28, has only played 2 games with the Canucks since the trade. He had 3 goals and 15 assists in 47 games with the Penguins this season. His 86 blocked shots rank 48th in the league.
