The Washington Capitals have re-signed Timothy Liljegren to a 2-year contract extension with a cap hit of $3.25 million.
The defenseman was eligible to be a UFA this summer.
Liljegren, 27, had 1 goal and 10 assists in 47 games for split between the Sharks and the Capitals last season. The Capitals acquired him at the trade deadline for a 4th round pick.
