The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired Reilly Smith from the New York Rangers in exchange for Brendan Brisson and San Jose’s 2025 3rd round pick.
Smith, who won a Cup with Vegas in 2023, played with the Penguins and the Rangers, but never found the success he had in Vegas. The winger had 10 goals and 19 assists in 58 games for the Rangers.
The Rangers are retaining 50% of the $3.75 million of cap hit they’re carrying. Pittsburgh retained $1.25 million in their summer trade with the Rangers.
