• Canadiens to sign Lane Hutson

The Montreal Canadiens are signing Lane Hutson, Elliotte Friedman reports.

Hudson’s sophomore season ended last night, as Boston University lost in the semi-final game.

The undersized Hudson has been a prolific producer at the college level, putting up 15 goals and 34 assists in 38 games this season.

  • Golden Knights re-sign Noah Hanifin

The Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed Noah Hanifin to an 8-year contract extension.

The Golden Knights acquired Hanifin at the trade deadline for Daniil Miromanov, a 2026 1st round pick, and a 2025 conditional 2nd round pick.

Hanifin, 27, has 2 goals and 7 assists in 16 games since the trade.

  • LeBrun: Flyers, Fedotov have desire for longer-term solution

The Flyers and recently signed goalie Ivan Fedotov both have a desire to extend the relationship beyond this season and his current contract, Pierre LeBrun reports.

It’s unclear if this means there is a contract already in the drawer, or simply that there’s just a desire from both sides.

  • Leafs re-sign Simon Benoit

The Toronto Maple Leafs have re-signed Simon Benoit to a 3-year contract.

Benoit, 25, has been a good story for the Leafs this season. He’s been a big part of their defense, playing 54 games with the club after an early season recall.

  • Avalanche re-sign Justus Annunen

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed Justus Annunen to a 2-year, 1-way NHL contract.

Annunen has been great since taking over the backup goalie role from Ivan Prosvetov. Annunen is 5-2-1 with a 0.926 SV% in 2023-24.

Annunen will require waivers next season to be sent to the AHL, so he looks to be the favorite to be the Avs’ backup goalie next season.

Rees, 23, was a 2nd round pick from Carolina in 2019.

The St. Louis Blues have re-signed Matt Kessel to a 2-year, 1-way extension.

Kessel, 23, will be a RFA at the end of the extension.
