    Rangers acquire Alex Wennberg

    The New York Rangers have acquired Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken.

    Trade call was just completed. Alex Wennberg traded to the Rangers.

    The return is a 2nd in 2024 and a 4th in 2025. Seattle is retaining 50% of Wennberg’s $4.5 million cap hit.

    Colorado acquires Mittelstadt for Byram

    The Colorado Avalanche have acquired Casey Mittelstadt in a trade from Buffalo in exchange for Bowen Byram.

    There have been reports that the Sabres were hesitant about what Mittelstadt’s next contract might look like.

    The trade coincides with the Avalanche sending out a center and getting a defenseman in the Walker/Johansen trade with Philadelphia.

    The Colorado Avalanche are acquiring Sean Walker in a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers.

    Darren Dreger reports that Ryan Johansen is going back to Philadelphia in the deal.

    Chris Johnston reports that Philadelphia is receiving Colorado’s 2025 1st round pick, with protection if the pick lands in the top-10.

    Oilers to acquire Henrique and Carrick

    The Edmonton Oilers are acquiring centers Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks.

    Sources say #Oilers and #NHLDucks are finishing off a deal that will send Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick to Edmonton.

    Eric Stephens reports that the Ducks are getting the Oilers 2024 1st and a conditional 5th in 2025.

    Tampa Bay is retaining 25% of Henrique’s salary and will pick up a 4th round pick from Edmonton.

    Panthers acquire Vladimir Tarasenko

    The Florida Panthers have acquired Vladimir Tarasenko from the Ottawa Senators.

    Tarasenko traded to the Florida Panthers. Draft picks expected return.

    The Panthers have limited cap-space, so retention might be in place to fit in Tarasenko’s $5 million cap hit. Florida does have a 23-man roster, so they would need to send a player back to Ottawa (or another team, or send a player to the minors.

    Per Frank Seravalli, the return is a 3rd and a conditional 4th.

    Flyers close on Seeler extension

    The Philadelphia Flyers and Nick Seeler appear to be close on a contract extension.

    The Flyers continue to make progress on a contract extension with veteran defenceman Nick Seeler.

    According to Anthony Di Marco from the Fourth Period, the contract will be 3 or 4 years with a cap-hit around $3.33 million.

    Seeler was one of the most sought-after defensemen on the trade market.

    Capitals re-sign Rasmus Sandin

    The Washington Capitals have signed Rasmus Sandin to a 5-year contract extension.

    Golden Knights acquire Anthony Mantha

    The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired Anthony Mantha from the Washington Capitals.

    Anthony Mantha goes from Washington to Vegas for a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick.

    The return is a 2024 2nd round pick and a 2026 4th round pick. The Capitals are retaining 50% of Mantha’s $5.7 million.

    Kevin Weekes suggests that the Knights might still add another forward.
