The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired the rights of pending UFA defenseman Darren Raddysh from the Tampa Bay Lightning and signed him to a 8-year contract carrying a cap hit of $8.5 million.
The defenseman was set to be one of the top UFAs on the market, following his breakout season which saw him put up 22 goals and 48 assists in 73 games for the Lightning.
Raddysh, 30, has played 249 games over his NHL career, all with the Lightning, registering 35 goals and 108 assists.
