The Ottawa Senators have acquired goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Boston Bruins.
Korpisalo will carry a $3 million cap hit for the Bruins through 2027-28.
Ullmark is set to be a UFA after the 2024-25 season. There had been some rumors that the two sides were discussing a contract extension, so we’ll see if one is forthcoming after the trade.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed Yegor Chinakhov to a 2-year contract.
Chinakhov, 23, had a strong scoring season in 2023-24, albeit interrupted by injuries. He registered 16 goals and 13 assists in 53 games for the Blue Jackets.
Chinakhov will have 2 RFA seasons remaining after this contract expires.
The Washington Capitals have acquired Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Los Angeles Kings for Darcy Kuemper.
Dubois was a big disappointment for the Kings in his first year with the Kings. He’ll bring his $8.5 million cap-hit to Washington through the 2030-31 season.
Darcy Kuemper also struggled in 2023-24, eventually losing the net to Charlie Lindgren. He carries a $5.25 million cap hit for the next three seasons. Kuemper played for the Kings in 2017-18.
The New Jersey Devils have acquired Jacob Markstrom from the Calgary Flames.
The Devils’ 2025 pick is top-10 protected.
Markstrom’s cap hit for the Devils will be $4.125 million for the next two seasons with the Flames retaining their portion.
The San Jose Sharks are hiring Ryan Warsofsky as their head coach, Elliotte Friedman reports.
Warsofsky was an assistant coach with the Sharks for the past two seasons. Prior to that, he was the head coach of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
The San Jose Sharks have signed Will Smith to an entry-level deal.
Smith had 25 goals and 46 assists in 41 games in his freshman season and Boston College in 2023-24.
