• Wild fire Dean Evason, hire John Hynes

    The Minnesota Wild have hired John Hynes as their new head coach.

    The Wild announced earlier today that they had let go Dean Evason and assistant coach Bob Woods.

    The Wild are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games and currently sit two points up on the Central’s last place Chicago Blackhawks.

  • Wild trade away Addison; acquire Bogosian

    The Minnesota Wild made two separate trades today, bringing in Zach Bogosian and shipping out Calen Addison.

    They traded a 2025 7th round pick to Tampa Bay for Bogosian and acquired Adam Raska and a 2026 5th round pick from Minnesota for Addison.

  • Oilers waive Jack Campbell

    The Oilers have placed Jack Campbell on waivers.

    Campbell hasn’t been what the Oilers have expected since signing him to a 5-year deal in the summer of 2022. He is signed through 2026-27 at a cap hit of $5 million.

  • Pierre Dorion let go by Senators

    The Ottawa Senators are removing Pierre Dorion from his position of general manager of the team.

    The news follows the announcement that the Senators were losing a first round pick in one of the next three seasons as a penalty for not disclosing a no-trade list submission to Vegas in their trade of Evgeny Dadonov.

    The Edmonton Oilers have signed Sam Gagner to a 1-year deal for the NHL minimum salary.

    Gagner has already had two separate stints with the Oilers in his career. He has been playing with Edmonton’s AHL affiliate in Bakersfield so far this season, registering a goal and 4 assists in 3 games. He had 8 goals and 6 assists in 48 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season.

  • Blue Jackets place Liam Foudy on waivers

    The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed Liam Foudy on waivers.

    Foudy, the Blue Jackets’ 18th overall pick in 2018, hasn’t been able to cement himself a prominent role in their lineup. The 23-year old had 7 goals and 7 assists in 62 games last season.

  • Devon Toews reportedly progressing on extension

    The Colorado Avalanche and defenseman Devon Toews have reportedly made some progress on a contract extension, reports Elliotte Friedman.

    Elliotte Friedman and host Jeff Marek have previously speculated on the 32 Thoughts podcast that a new contract for Toews might be in the range of $7 million per season.

  • Canucks allowing Conor Garland to speak to other teams

    The Canucks have granted permission to Conor Garland to talk to other teams in an attempt to find a trade fit, Elliotte Friedman reports.

    Garland was a key part in 2021 trade between the Canucks and Coyotes which sent the Canucks 9th overall pick to Arizona, which the Coyotes used to pick Dylan Guenther. Despite being a high-profile addition, Garland hasn’t lived up to the billing for the Canucks.
