Canucks Sign Conor Garland
Garland was set to be a RFA when free agency opens tomorrow. The deal will cover two RFA seasons and three UFA seasons. -
Marc-Andre Fleury Traded to Chicago
Marc-Andre Fleury has been traded to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Fleury is coming off winning the Vezina for the Golden Knights, but the team was going with Robin Lehner more regularly towards the end of the playoff run. He carries a $7 million cap hit next season.
Chicago will pair Fleury with Kevin Lankinen in net.
Bob McKenzie throws the idea that Fleury might contemplate retirement out there, however, as Fleury only wanted to play for Vegas and Chicago was not on his no-trade list.

Avalanche, Grubauer Still Talking
Pierre Lebrun reports that the Avalanche and Philipp Grubauer are making another push to get a contract done before free agency opens.
Frank Seravalli reported that Colorado’s last offer was 5 years for $5 million per season.
Grubauer was a Vezina finalist last season. He went 30-9-1 with a 1.95 GAA and a 0.922 SV%.

Lightning Could Pursue Corey Perry
The Lightning could pursue Corey Perry if he’s available, reports Dave Pagnotta.
Perry and the Canadiens are believed to be mutually interested in a return.
Tampa Bay will need to find some bottom-six forwards in free agency. They’ve already lost Barclay Goodrow and Yanni Gourde and are expected to lose Blake Coleman in free agency.

Jets Acquire Brenden Dillon
According to Darren Dreger, the Winnipeg Jets have acquired left defensemen Brenden Dillon from the Washington Capitals for two 2nd round picks.
Dillon carries a $3.9 million cap hit for the next three seasons. The Jets have been looking for some size on the blueline since they were spurned by the Stars in their pursuit of Jamie Oleksiak at the trade deadline.
The 2nd round picks are in 2022 and 2023.

Stastny Close to Re-Signing in Winnipeg
Pierre LeBrun reports that Paul Stastny is close to re-signing in Winnipeg.
Stastny returned to Winnipeg last summer after spending two seasons in Vegas. The 35-year old center had 13 goals and 16 assists in 56 games with the Jets last season. -
LeBrun on Goaltending Market: Andersen, Mrazek, Kuemper
Pierre LeBrun reports on the goaltending market two days prior to free agency opening.
He reports that the Leafs have yet to make a contract offer to Frederik Andersen, but he doesn’t rule out a last minute offer before free agency opens.
LeBrun says that he believes Andersen is on the shortlist of the Carolina Hurricanes and that the Hurricanes own UFA goaltender Petr Mrazek is on the shortlist of Toronto. He says that both goalies will have offers from multiple teams, however.
He also reports that both the Hurricanes and Leafs have interest in trading for Darcy Kuemper of the Coyotes and that the Hurricanes are trying to sign Jonathan Bernier, whose UFA rights they acquired in last week’s Alex Nedeljkovic trade.

Anton Stralman Going to Arizona
Anton Stralman has waived his no-trade clause to facilitate a trade to Arizona, Pierre LeBrun reports.
Arizona will presumably be paid to take on Stralman’s salary. They currently have five 2022 second-round picks, but they won’t be picking up a sixth here, as Florida does not have their 2022 second. Florida has been connected with defenseman Ryan Suter.
UPDATE: Elliotte Friedman reports the Coyotes will receive Stralman, 2019 2nd round pick Vladislav Kolyachonok, and a 2024 2nd round pick for a 7th round pick in 2023.
