Leafs Sign Ondrej Kase
The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Ondrej Kase to a one-year deal.
Kase is an effective player when healthy, but that’s not been a common occurrence recently. He played only 3 games with the Bruins in 2020-21. Kase will be a RFA after this season.

David Krejci Going to Europe
The Bruins have released a statement from David Krejci that says he’s going to return to the Czech Republic to continue his hockey career.
Krejci played 14 seasons with the Bruins. -
Blue Jackets Sign Zach Werenski
The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed Zach Werenski to a six-year contract.
Werenski, like the recently-departed Seth Jones, had been rumored to be less than eager to re-sign in Columbus long-term. Perhaps that’s reflected in the price of the contract. Werenski could have walked as a UFA after the 2022-23 season.
The contract covers one RFA year and five UFA years.

Rangers Trade for Ryan Reaves
The New York Rangers have acquired Ryan Reaves from the Vegas Golden Knights.
Reaves will be united with Rangers’ head coach Gerard Gallant, whom he was with in Vegas.
The Rangers play Tom Wilson and the Capitals opening night. -
Corey Perry Signs with Lightning
Corey Perry has signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning, reports Kevin Weekes.
Perry has lost to the Lightning in back-to-back years while being a strong playoff performer with the Stars and Canadiens.

The Dallas Stars are signing Michael Raffl and Jani Hakanpaa, reports Kevin Weekes.
Dallas mad their big splash in free agency yesterday, signing Ryan Suter to a four-year deal. -
Report: Tarasenko Trade Value Diminishing
Jeremy Rutherford of the Athletic reports that the trade market for Vladimir Tarasenko is diminishing.
Rutherford quotes his source: “The trajectory doesn’t get any better. They shit on this guy … to their own detriment. It’s time to move him. The train has left the station.”
He reports there was at one point four teams interested in Tarasenko, but the options are now dwindling, though at least two teams are still interested in the winger.
Rutherford mentions New Jersey and Carolina as two teams that make sense for Tarasenko.
