There was lots of buzz about Martin being connected to the Avalanche and Lightning with their recent injury news for Pavel Francouz and Andrei Vasilevskiy, respectively, but the Blue Jackets are the team to be awarded Martin from waivers. He will presumably battle for the backup job with Daniil Tarasov. -
Wild re-sign Mats Zuccarello
The Minnesota Wild have signed Mats Zuccarello to a 2-year contract.
Zuccarello, 36, found new life with the Wild after Kirill Kaprizov made his way over from Russia. Zuccarello had 22 goals and 45 assists in 78 games last season. The contract will start in the 2024-25 season.

Blues sign Nick Ritchie to PTO
The St. Louis Blues have signed Nick Ritchie to a professional tryout offer, the team announced.
Ritchie, 27, had 13 goals and 13 assists in 74 games split between the Coyotes and Flames last season.

Oilers sign Adam Erne to PTO
The Edmonton Oilers have signed Adam Erne to a try-out agreement.
Erne, 28, played last season with the Red Wings, registering 8 goals and 10 assists in 61 games.

Comtois Expected to sign PTO with Vegas
According to Renaud Lavoie, it’s expected that Maxime Comtois will sign a professional try-out with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Comtois, 24, had 9 goals and 10 assists in 64 games with the Ducks, which led to the team not issuing him a qualifying offer. His career year was 2020-21 when he posted 16 goals and 17 assists in 55 games, but he has failed to build on that season in the two seasons following.

Tomas Tatar signs with Avalanche
Tomas Tatar has signed a 1-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche.
Ryan Novozinsky of NJ.com reports that the deal is worth $1.5 million. Tatar, 32, had 20 goals and 28 assists in 82 games with the Devils last season.

Tyler Motte signs with Lightning
Tyler Motte has signed a 1-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Motte played with the Senators and the Rangers last season.
The Lightning announced that they have put forward Josh Archibald on waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Report: Dahlin Contract Expected to be Around $10.5M per Season
Rasmus Dahlin’s new contract with the Sabres is expected to be around $10.5 million per season, according to After the Whistle with Craig Rivet and Andrew Peters.
Elliotte Friedman noted on the 32 Thoughts Podcast that there is still some work to be done on the contract between Dahlin and the Sabres. Dahlin, 23, had 15 goals and 58 assists for the Sabres last season. He is under contract at a cap hit of $6 million for 2023-24, after which he’ll have one RFA season remaining before he is eligible for free agency.
