Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh reported that Fleury would take some time with his family to discuss his future after getting traded to Chicago, as he did not want to leave Vegas.

There were some rumors that a trade would be worked out with Pittsburgh if Fleury didn’t want to report to Chicago, but it was always Chicago’s intentions to have Fleury play for them.

Kase will be a RFA after this season.

  • Blue Jackets Sign Zach Werenski

The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed Zach Werenski to a six-year contract.

Werenski, like the recently-departed Seth Jones, had been rumored to be less than eager to re-sign in Columbus long-term. Perhaps that’s reflected in the price of the contract. Werenski could have walked as a UFA after the 2022-23 season.

The contract covers one RFA year and five UFA years.
